General Patton here; I see you made it to the orderly room.  This is where I will brief you more about the Louisville ~ Fort Knox Armor Modeling Preservation Society (AMPS) ~ "Patton's Best" Chapter.  This AMPS chapter serves the Louisville and Fort Knox areas. Our chapter is one of a larger AMPS organization on a national scale.

Our membership of armor modelers was founded in January 2007 and our mission is to have fun without any of the associated hassles connected with other modeling groups. Our goal is not to compete with any other modeling groups but to offer a venue where armor builders share interests.

We basically abide by these guidelines:

1.  There are no chapter officers
2.  There are no annual dues
3.  There are no "Tankshop" (Saturday workshop) fees
4.  We meet to have fun and build
5.  Membership is open to all armor builders by active membership approval only

We meet at the Louisville Bon Air Library located at 2816 Del Rio Place (off Bardstown Road and Goldsmith Lane - Phone 574-1795) on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month (hours of operation 09:00 until 12:00 (noon).  At these "Tankshops" we build armor models, swap books, stories, ideas, and help each other out.

We are a hobby organization for individuals that take the approach to modeling armored/cavalry vehicles and military figures only. We also explore the historical aspects of the roles of armor warfare.

Occasionally we will setup displays in the metro libraries which features built and unbuilt kits, in-progress projects, reference materials and anything else connected to armor.  It is our desire that this website be an extension of our AMPS chapter that provides some useful information for those who share our interests.  Our group has just completed an AMPS modeling seminar at the Southwest library and had some great modeling displays throughout the year at some metro libraries.

Being in close proximity to the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor, it is our chapter's honor to have the name of Patton bestowed upon it.
